Run To Deliver Checks To Diogenes
Youth Services And Shriners Hospital Completes 2001 Poker Run
Lucky Dan, Road Captain
Capital City MC colors were
evident in the Sacramento Community when 25 members, 20 bikes and
3 guests left the clubhouse at about 10 am on Saturday, June 2 to
deliver $3,600 in 2001 Poker Run proceeds to the Diogenes Youth
Services and Northern California Hospital for children.
At both stops, club President
George Farrell presented an oversized check (thanks to Dennis and
Nathan) made out for $1,800 to the respective charity.
Both groups appreciated the contribution and representatives
at each stop expressed their thanks to the club for its efforts.
At Diogenes Youth Services,
members of their Board of Directions were on hand and they rolled
out the mobile service unit for a tour by club members.
Cookies were also provided at this stop, much to the relief
of Sheila Keene-Larsen who was, apparently, starving at this point.
She and others lived to tell the tale that the 2001 CCMC
Poker Run is now, officially, “in the books.”
Best of luck to the 2002 Committee!
Note: During the last two years, CCMC Poker runs have raised $7,600
for local charity and have been presented to organizations that
help our community’s children.
